Welcome to this months Colour Combo Blog hop,
your currently hopping with me Laura Mackie, a UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator
Our challenge this months is to create a card of project using the 3 colours above Soft Sea Foam, Poppy Parade and Mossy Meadow, now boy was this fun, 3 colours I never play with together but use lots individually! I challenge you to play along to! I'd love to see what you come up with!
Heres my card:
I decided to reach for a new stamp set that hadn't seen ink yet!
'By the Bay' its a Free stamp set when you spend £45 on Stampin' Up! products,
this stamp set isn't my usual if im honest really as I'm
not a watercolourer at all!
I stamped my house in Stazon black ink onto watercolor paper to begin, I then coloured with ink from the ink pad with a aqua painter.
So the roof was Poppy Parade - red prefect, my house could be uninked!
the greens were perfect for all those bushes and trees! but then as I was colouring I realised I had brick work a lot of brick work! - hmmmm hows this going to go! then I had a lightbulb moment Red and Green mixed make brown! well I think all colours mixed together make a slushy dirty colour
but the colour I made was perfect! and I think it worked out pretty well!?!
I have die cut the house with the new Rectangle stitched framelits (im pretty addicted to those right now) which I then mounted on a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock,
I added some linen twine to finish off my card, I love how my card turned out in the end.

This card has such a calming feel. I think the seaside does that. And I like your use of the linen thread. It looks like the ropes on a ship. Very nice card.
ReplyDeleteI love how you implemented this stamp! So soft and welcoming. TFS
