Make my Monday - Anything that Flies

Wow it's Monday again already, but least its a bank holiday weekend what have you been up too??
Saturday we had a lovely day out at the Sweep Festival in Rochester, followed by a trip to Ikea :) yesterday we didnt do much as my son didnt feel a 100% bless him, so he chilled on the sofa while i crafted of course... I'm going to have a day of crafting again today in preparation for a show I'm doing on the 2nd June and I also still have a few bits to do before Saturday, on Saturday I'm going to a Stampin Up! Regional training with lots of other demonstrators, Ive made over a 100 swaps but still have a card or scrapbook page to complete, now back to Todays challenge over at MAKE MY MONDAY and the theme this week is ANYTHING THAT FLIES... And you might know mine would be butterfly inspired as of course these fly and fly very beautifully and gracefully ....

Here's my card:

I'd also like to add my card to the following challenges:

Challenge #9 Things with Wings over at - http://natalieandamy.blogspot.co.uk/

I do totally love butterflies, and this stamp comes from the gorgeous SU set, kindness matters. I've heat embossed the butterflies with gold embossing powered on card stock vellum

I've used the yummy in colour summer Starfruit with crumb cake, with a gorgeous vintage doilie, some twine and a stunning sparkly vintage faceted button...

What I've used:
Stamps - kindness matters
Ink - versamark with gold embossing powder and whisper white craft pad
Cardstock - crumb cake and summer starfruit
Embossing folder - stripes
Embellishments - twine, doilie and vintage faceted button

Soda Pop Top Jewellery

I thought today i would share with you a little experiment i had... which i think turned out rather well...
After making my swaps for Sundays training i ended up with LOADS of Stampin Up large Soda Pop tops so thought id have a go at making a necklace with one..

the soda pop tops fit perfectly with the 1" round Stampin Up punch.... so it makes it super easy and quick.

so what do you think???

I flattened the pop top in my bigshot first then, made my insert using the Kindness Matters Stamp set, Ive stamped 1 of the butterflies using Midnight Muse, I then stuck the circle inside my pop top with a drop of glue.

I then filled my pop top with clear embossing powder and popped in under the grill,  I'd pre heated my grill ready... if you have a go you need to watch your embossing powder as it turns quickly... but i found this is better than using the oven... I had a few go's and definitely is the best way to melt the powder.

this is me wearing my lovely new necklace i made... I wore it to the training event on sunday and got lots of lovely comments.... You all know whats comming next dont you.... watch this space I'm already thinking of more ideas for these pop tops ....

Heres what i used:
Soda Pop Tops @ £3.75 for 16 pop tops
Clear embossing Powder @ £3.95
Kindness Matters Stamp Set in clear mount @ £8.95
Ink - Midnight Muse @ £4.95

Necklace - from Micheals, simular available im sure on eBay or craft / jewellery making store.
