Stampin' Up! Wreath Builder Dies - Christmas card
Welcome to this months Stampin' for Christmas Blog Hop,
and first hop of 2021 we are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators
from all over the world sharing Christmas
card making & Papercraft ideas with Stampin' Up! Products
Here is what I made for todays hop
I'm such a traditional Christmas card maker!
Its always red and green for me! so today I challenged myself
with a non christmassy colour scheme! and this card couldn't be
further from that! I saw this Christmas door on Instagram
and LOVED it and I set to recreate it for todays card,
Inspiration comes from all places!
How welcoming is this!
So if I'm totally honest I don't generally make Christmas cards all year round,
that or I start with the great intentions and then stop!
So this hop is great to keep me making Christmas cards
all year round as so many crafters do make them all year round,
and maybe if your more like me then this will give you the inspiration
you need to make them all year round!
Think just 2 a month and come December you'd have 24 cards!
I absolutely loved making this card and love how it turned out
to create the door background I used Blushing Bride Cardstock
for the card base and the layer on the front,
I cut the layer 1.5cm smaller than the card front and before
cutting it into the 4 pieces, I used my Blushing Bride and Whisper White
Ink pad and dragged ink down the cardstock, with a light pressure
it created the graining look.. worth having ago if you've never tried it!
To create the wreath I used the Stampin' Up! Wreath
Builder Dies and cut 3 wreath layers in Mossy Meadow
cardstock and one layer in Basic White cardstock
I then carefully assembled them together and adhere in place
over the 'Door', all the little flowers are cut from the flower dies also
in the Wreath builder die pack, I adhered these randomly
over the wreath and added some gold gilded gems to the centres of each.
I then flicked with a water painter tip and
frost white shimmer paint all over the
door and wreath, whilst this was drying,
I heat embossed the banner greeting
with gold embossing powder onto Blushing Bride cardstock.
I then adhered the banner on to the wreath.
I couldn't resist adding a little
Blushing Bride Twine bow to finish!
I hope our Hop today inspires you to just
make one Christmas card this month!
