Stampin’ Up! MDS Chalkboard Sign

I had more of a play with MDS this weekend, and look what i made… its for my craft room door… eeek i love it and was very simple to create..

image

Ive used the MDS software (free trial availble for 30 days) with black card stock, and my chalk marker all stampin up, I glued the black cardstock to a piece of plyboard which i had cut to size..

Heres a Stampin up video showing how to recreate the chalk board effect  - the only change i made was to use my Chalk marker instead of normal chalk when finishing the sign so i didnt need hair spray..

Here's the sketch for the challenge:

Here's my card.... Again using the chalkboard technique....

Chalkboard Technique

Have you all noticed at how popular and on trend currently the black board and chalk look is?? well when i saw this weeks challange over at CAS-ual Fridays was black and white plus 1… you all just know what i thought of straight away – yep you guessed it Chalk board technique..
if you would like to take part in the challenge click on the image below

There are several ways to create the technique..
1- stamp image using SU white craft ink (101731 @ £6.95)
2 – stamp image in white craft ink then heat emboss with white embossing powder
3 – stamp image in versamark ink then heat emboss with white powder.
i used option 3 for my card take a look:

Its quite popular to add a white border around the edge this can be done with a white gel pen, i opted to pierce all round my edges. To give the look of a real chalk board i gently sponged around the edges with white craft ink, over my sentiment and around my punched out flower…

Ive also flicked white embossing powder over my card then heated the card from behind..

So my plus 1 was Pink… i just love Melon Mambo and black together…
