Stampin' Up! Butterfly Brilliance watercoloured handmade card

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Brilliance
watercoloured handmade card

Its Monday! a brand new week
Make Today well the week Ridiculously AWESOME!

I LOVED making this card, playing with
Fluid 100 - Watercolour paper and my
 Stampin' Up! Watercolour pencils

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Brilliance

I created a Rainbow effect background on the
watercolour paper using my Stampin' Up! Watercolour Pencils in
Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight,
Old Olive, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point
and Gorgeous Grape Watercolour Pencils which
I then Blended with a water Painter so the colours
merged together,
I heat set with my heat tool so it dried quicky!
I'm an impatient crafter!! haha!

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Brilliance

I then mounted up the Stampin' Up! Butterfly Brilliance
Stamp on my Stamparatus and stamped the Butterflies
in Memento ink, I re stamped it 3 times so the
stamped images really stood out, the watercolour
paper is an uneven surface and I always
find it needs stamping more than once, so the
Stamparatus is perfect for this!

I love this sentiment!
and I felt it was perfect for my card!
I stamped it again in memento ink onto
Basic White cardstock, and then hand cut it out
as I didnt want to loose to much of the beautiful
Butterflies behind!

I finished my card with LOTS of sequins
from the Artistry Blooms sequins they our beautiful and
thought they worked perfectly!

Here is what I made using the DSP
combined with the Sentiment from the
Pretty Perennials stamp set

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Brilliance

My card uses the beautiful Butterfly Bijou DSP
and only a little stamping for the sentiment, I love
the 'Happy' sentiment in the Pretty Perennials stamp set!

I've trimmed the front of my card base back a little to reveal the
strip of DSP on the inside of the card, letting the Butterflies
overhang the front edge of my card

This card was so quick and easy to create!

I made a quick video sharing how I made todays card

Card Measurements

Thick Basic White card base measuring
21cm x 14.8cm, score in half at 10.5cm

Trimming 2cm off the front of your card base

DSP inside - 3cm x 14.8cm

Butterflies added to card front on dimensionals

Sentiment adhered flat to butterflies,
stamped in black Memento ink and
fussy cut out.

Embellishments - Opal Rounds
My current favourite go too embellishment are these
beautiful Opal Rounds, which have a beautiful
iridescent look to them they appear clear, but
on a closer look have a beautiful subtle sparkle
which lend themselves to any colour project!

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Brilliance

I was playing around with colours,

Above uses So Saffron, and below uses
Brushing Bride Ink and Cardstock.

I used the Stamparatus to stamp all the layers
as this was quick and easy for mulitple stamping of the
same think, Even my 5 year old daughter got in
on the job and loved using the Stamparatus!

The Butterflies on the fronts of the cards are
stamped in Memento Black ink onto
Basic white cardstock, The details of the butterflies
is beautiful, I loved the Black and white Butterflies
sitting on the coloured layers behind!

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Brilliance

I'm loving the New Butterfly Stamps,

I've used the 'sending paper hugs' greeting stamp
from the Comfort & Hope Stamp set and thought
it was perfect as we cant meet in person in the UK
