Good morning crafters...

Today is Monday and means its time for another challenge over at make my Monday if you would like to join in this weeks challenge which is inspired by a book cover check it out: and if you would like to play along click on the picture below to go straight to the blog...

Here's my card:

I was inspired by so many things the colours, the butterflies and the flowers so decided to include it all...
I've masked off my sun with my 1" circle punch from a post it note, then sponged bashful blue for my sky and lucky limeade for grass, leaving a hint of white between.

Here's a closer look

I've stamped everything in black to give a silhouette effect... Funny considering the name of the stamp set i used...

You all must of noticed my love of butterfly's... So I couldn't resist adding one on Todays card could i, punched from the cute Itty bitty butterfly punch, then finished with some sparkle....

What ive used:
Stamp sets - sentiment field flowers, Summer Silhouettes, Papillion Potpourri
Card Stock - basic black, white
Ink - lucky limeade, basic black, summer Starfruit and Bashful blue
Punches - Itty bitty butterfly and scallop trim border punch, 1" circle punch for sun

Oh pretty petite Butterfly….

Happy Sunday Crafters! What are you all doing today?? I will mostly be crafting…. :) of course…. hehehe
Today im sharing a card for the Challange over at Less is more.. which this week is ….

Have a look at my card….
IMG_2546

Ive made this card by die cutting a frame from a post-it note using my Stampin Up Labels Collection Framelits, as you can see from the pic below i then masked off more of my card as the frame only just fitted within my post-it note

IMG_2542

This card involves alot of masking but is worth it im sure youll agree… it easy to mask as i just punched lots of Bitty Butterflys with my SU punch which fits the small Papillion Potpourri Butterfly perfectly…

IMG_2543

I stamped the first butterfly randomly around my frame … then masked them off, my butterflies in between are stamped using 2nd generation stamping, stamping off the ink first on scrap paper then stamping on the page…

IMG_2544

Then repeating until happy… masking off as required

IMG_2545

And heres the finished ‘frame’
I also slightly ink my edges to give the frame definition… I then cut another label using my Framelit.. and then overlayed it on my stamped area to line up… then trimmed it up to size

IMG_2547

i also added paper piercing to the edge of the frame…

IMG_2548

heres what i used:
Stamps – Papillion Potpourri and Petite Pairs
Cardstock – Naturals Ivory and Rich Razzleberry
Ink – Rich Razzleberry
Punch – Bitty Butterfly and Scallop Trim Border
Labels Collection Framelits and Festive paper Piercing Pack (still available in current Spring and Summer Catalogue)…

Chalkboard Technique

Have you all noticed at how popular and on trend currently the black board and chalk look is?? well when i saw this weeks challange over at CAS-ual Fridays was black and white plus 1… you all just know what i thought of straight away – yep you guessed it Chalk board technique..
if you would like to take part in the challenge click on the image below
cfc90
There are several ways to create the technique..
1- stamp image using SU white craft ink (101731 @ £6.95)
2 – stamp image in white craft ink then heat emboss with white embossing powder
3 – stamp image in versamark ink then heat emboss with white powder.
i used option 3 for my card take a look:
IMG_2287
Its quite popular to add a white border around the edge this can be done with a white gel pen, i opted to pierce all round my edges. To give the look of a real chalk board i gently sponged around the edges with white craft ink, over my sentiment and around my punched out flower…
IMG_2290
Ive also flicked white embossing powder over my card then heated the card from behind..
IMG_2288
So my plus 1 was Pink… i just love Melon Mambo and black together…
IMG_2289

I couldnt resist adding a butterfly with some bling
