A card of Love

Hi Crafters, thank you for coming by today, Today i have played along with the CAS-ual Fridays challange, if you would like to play along too please click on the link below:

Heres the card Ive made to play along with the challenge:

I hope you like it... please feel free to leave me a comment.

I decided to keep my card very simple and have the letters as my main focal point, I love these letters there from the Stampin' Up! Broadsheet Alphabet set, I do love this set alot. The heart stamp Ive used to represent my 'o' is from the NEW Spring & Summer Seasonal Catalogue, Hearts a Flutter set which has a co-ordinating 'Framelits Dies' set to go with it, to save you time cutting out, and also saves you 15% if you buy both together.

Each of my letters were stamped and then punch out with the SU 'Postage Stamp' punch. such a versatile and handy punch. I love being able to design my own 'stamps'

What i used to make my card: White cardstock, Cherry Cobbler Ink, Postage Stamp Punch, Broadsheet Alphabet Stamp set, Hearts a Flutter Stamp Set.

I do think this card could look quite nice with a red card base and cream background... so heres what i did next:

What do you think???

Ive also dry embossed the background with Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. This time ive cut the heart out with one of the Hearts a flutter Framelits dies. I think i may prefer this one???

Heres what ive used: Very Vanilla cardstock, Cherry Cobbler cardstock and Ink, Postage Stamp Punch, Broadsheet Alphabet Stamp set, Hearts a Flutter Stamp Set and Framelits Dies. Perfect Polka Dot Embossing folder.

‘Bloomin’ Marvelous’ Wine bottle tag

Morning crafters….

As you read this i shall be on route to a Stampin’ Up! training event, the wonders of technology and schedule post hey!!

As Ive told you in the past when us demonstrators meet we love to swap ideas with each other, this times theme is the up and coming ‘Sale-a-bration’ promotion – heres my swap (excludes bottle hehe)

IMG_2003

The cute tag fits a small bottle of wine..

I thought id provide these instuctions for anyone interested in recreating the tags, there straight forward – they kinda needed to be with 40 to make!!!!

Cut base card at 14.8cm x 6cm score at 6cm

cut layer at 14.3cm x 5.5cm score at 5.5cm

IMG_2010

as you can see from the pic above i punched my sentiment back ground layer and the scallop circle from my base, i did this to save on card – id advise you do these out of off cuts of card.

now your ready to stamp up the layer, i’ve used the Bloomin’ Marvelous Sale-a-bration stamp set – which is available for FREE with a £45 order from 22nd January.

IMG_2011

punching the scallop circle for the neck of the bottle – from spare card stock punch a 1-1/4” circle, then punch the scallop circle 1-3/4” hoovering over circle centrally. you should end up with something like the pic below.. if ive made my instructions clear Smile

IMG_2012

now your ready to stick your stamped layer to your base card, make sure you line up your score lines.

IMG_2013

Stamp out your sentiment – punch out with the small oval punch,

IMG_2014

Glue scallop oval onto bottle tag.. at bottom ensuring short score line at top.

IMG_2015

add sentiment – i used dimensional sticky pads…

IMG_2016

Now punch out on small section circle using 1-1/4” circle punch – mark centre of top if easier to line up punch

IMG_2017

now stick scallop circle on,

IMG_2019

I cut out 40!! of these little flowers to finish off my tag… i embossed it to give it dimension… as below – then glued to edge of sentiment .

heres – my finished bottle tag… hope you enjoyed to days tutorial…

IMG_1973

I’snt the font gorgeous and the complete Stamp set is too but youll have to wait to see it  – its so funky and i felt the stamp alone  needed no frills so i came up with this design - just the stamp repeated and a diamonte for sparkle..

IMG_1974

Each card features 4 inks in different shades of the same colour, rather than using different generations of the same ink – which could though look good too.

Stampin' Trimmer

Features of the All-New Stampin’ Trimmer

The BEST on the market!!!

  • An extra-wide 15.9 cm cutting base and an extended 39 cm ruler
    • The extra-wide cutting base provides a large work area and is marked in 4 mm increments, allowing for small measurements.
    • The right-side grid helps you measure and cut very thin strips.
    • The extended cutting arm has a stabilizing leg to provide a sturdy and steady cutting surface for longer cuts.
    • When fully extended, the extended cutting arm sits flush with the trimmer base, providing more accurate and consistent measurements across the entire surface.
    • All rulers and measurements on the base are printed under a plastic cover so your measurements won’t wear off.
    • The base has nonskid feet, which keeps the Stampin’ Trimmer securely in place on your work area.

  • A full 30.5 cm cutting and scoring track
    • The extra-long cutting track has space at the top and bottom so you don’t have to take the cutting and scoring blades out when you’re not using them.
    • The track gives you enough space to cut or score a full 30.5 cm without having to remove or switch out handles.
    • The cutting track locks in place for secure storage or transport.
    • The track includes an insertion point for cutting and scoring blade handles so you can easily insert handles into the cutting track.

  • Specially designed handles and cutting track to ensure straight cuts
    • The hook on the scoring and cutting blade handles keeps the handles stable so the cuts are as straight as possible.
    • Handles come in two colors: dark for cutting, light for scoring.
    • The precision tip on the cutting blade allows you to pinpoint precisely where you’re cutting.
    • The point on the side of each handle shows you where the blade will cut, making it easy to see exactly where your cuts and scores will begin.

  • Storage compartment under base
    • The storage compartment holds scoring and cutting tools such as a Bone Folder, Simply Scored Stylus, extra scoring and cutting blades and even business cards.
    • Separate compartments within the storage compartment keep your tools organized, and the clear cover makes it easy to see what you’ve stored.
